Managing Your Knightsite Privacy Settings

This article explains how to adjust your privacy settings and manage who on campus can see specific parts of your profile.

It's important to understand that every person in your family needs to update their own privacy settings in their own Knightsite account. These settings are account specific.

Once logged in, click on your name in the upper right and select Settings.

Next, select Privacy on the left hand side.

You should NOT change the directory setting at the bottom of the screen. Leave “Include my name and use my General settings for what other people should see about me.” selected.

If this setting is not enabled, your information will be hidden for the entire GSB community.

In the event of an emergency, teachers, nurses and other important personnel on campus will be blocked from being able to get your contact information quickly.

Under General Settings, you can control who can see all or part of your contact information. We prefer you leave the individual settings for Teacher, Coach, Non-Teaching Staff, and Nurse as they are. 

If you expand the Parents section, you can see what other parents can see about you. Anything with a blue checkmark means other parents can see this information. You're welcome to check as many boxes as you prefer, and you are welcome to not share your information to the other parents by unchecking whatever items you prefer not to share.

An example might be a wireless number that you want the school to have access to, but don’t necessarily want to share that with other parents. You would uncheck that box here. Alternatively, you might want other parents to have your cell number, but not your home phone.

You can manage the information you share with students as well.

Again, we ask you to be mindful if you decide to make any changes outside of the parent/student section as it may be difficult for teachers or other staff members to reach you if you decide to not share specific contact information with them.
