Setup your computer for Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Setting Up the Print Server in Windows (scroll down for MacOS instructions)


Though the process is the same for Windows 10 and 11, the appearance of certain screens might differ between the two. 


Start of main contentSTEP 1) Go to the Windows Credential Manager by typing “credential” in the Windows search.


STEP 2) Click Windows Credentials and then Add a windows credential.


STEP 3) In the first field, enter the following network address: 


\\gsb-myq01.gsbnet.local\Faculty-Staff

The text is case-sensitive. Be sure to copy/paste or type the exact formatting into the field.


In the second and third fields, enter your user name and password. Your user name is your GSB email address (username@gsbschool.org) and the password is:


GSBprinters1!


Click OK.


STEP 4) Next, go to the Printers & scanners dialog by typing "printer" in the Windows search.
STEP 5) Click the blue Add device button.

STEP 6) Click "the printer that I want isn't listed" (Windows 10) or "Add manually" (Windows 11).

STEP 7) In the dialog box, click the radio button next to "Select a shared printer by name" and enter the network address of the printer (the same one from Step 3):


STEP 8) Click "Next." Windows will automatically begin looking for a driver and installing the printer. Click Finish.


Setting Up the Print Server in MacOS

STEP 1) Go to the Add printer dialog. (type "printers" into the spotlight search box and select Printers and Scanners)

STEP 2) Click the "plus" button on the lower left section of the window.

STEP 3) Select the "internet" icon and complete the following fields: 

            Address: 10.20.4.4            Protocol: select the Line Printer Daemon - LPD protocol

            QueueFaculty-Staff

STEP 4) If desired, you can replace the given name with a name of your choosing such as "MyQ Printers" or "GSB Printers"

STEP 5) To finish the setup, click Add.

You must be signed into the computer with the account provided by GSB in order to print. If you signed into a different account, you should utilize the Print via E-mail option.
