Share a YouTube video without ads or suggested videos

Use the following steps to share a YouTube video without ads and suggested videos. This will only work on videos that have been set to "allow embedding" by the uploader, so you'll need to test this method on your desired video before sharing the link.

Step 1) Open your browser and go to the desired video URL.

Step 2) Copy the URL from the browser address field (DO NOT click the "share" button).

Step 3) Paste the link to the location where you want to share the video (email, Knightsite, etc.).

Step 4) edit the link by typing _popup (underscore popup) between the words watch and the ? in the link. Be sure not to add any extra spaces or characters to the link. Here's an example:

edited link: https://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=_UR-l3QI2nE

When the link is clicked, your video will open in a fullscreen browser window similar to the image below. The _popup will automatically be replaced with an /embed/ tag.
